The Office of the Controller at Samuel Merritt University oversees University Financial Services & Treasury, which manages essential functions including accounting, treasury operations, financial reporting, and comprehensive financial services. These services encompass budget management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations, ensuring the effective financial administration and stewardship of the University's resources.
The Office of the Controller implements internal controls to mitigate risks, preparing and delivering financial status and condition reports to both internal stakeholders and external entities. In addition, we maintain accurate and current accounting records for the University, safeguarding SMU assets to mitigate financial risks, and developing and maintaining robust reporting tools that deliver high-quality financial information crucial for supporting strategic management initiatives at Samuel Merritt University.
