About Me
As an Oakland native, born, raised, and still living in this vibrant community with my family, I am deeply committed to advancing the rich legacy of social justice, empowerment, and resilience that defines our city. Oakland's diversity inspires my work and underscores the importance of health equity and community-driven change. Guided by Maya Angelou’s words, "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better," I am a lifelong learner whose educational journey has led me to academia as an educator. I am passionate about empowering community members, patients and students to advocate for themselves—whether in pursuit of better health or greater knowledge— to foster meaningful, lasting impact.
Education
I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of San Francisco in 1997, Masters of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from San Francisco State University in 2003, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Loyola University, New Orleans in 2016.
