College of Podiatric Medicine Experiences

The CPM Summer Enrichment Program and Winter Immersion Experience have been created for undergraduate or graduate students who are interested in podiatric medicine and surgery. The 2025 Summer Enrichment Program is 3 days long and is scheduled from July 16-18 and will be hosted at Samuel Merritt University's Oakland campus. The 2025 Winter Immersion Experience is a one day event, and will take place on Friday, January 24.
During these programs, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Explore the profession of podiatry
- Shadow current CPM students and faculty in a variety of clinical settings*
- Learn about the Basic Sciences department and its partnership with CPM
- Learn about the admission process, financial aid, and scholarships
- Participate in cast making and suturing.
- Learn sports medicine taping techniques, and more
*Shadowing experiences may be subject to change depending on clinical availability. Space is limited for these programs.

The CPM Summer Enrichment Program will be hosted in-person at Samuel Merritt University's Oakland campus in July.
CPM Summer Enrichment Program
July 16-18, 2025
9am - 4p each day
Participants will be required to attend all sessions.
Limited to 20 participants
All pre-med/pre-health students are eligible to apply.
Important Notice
Accepted/Confirmed participants will be notified by email no later than June 5, 2025. Travel reimbursement for flights (or direct payment by university via travel agency) will be capped at $400 per participant. Participants are responsible for hotel and other travel related accommodations (hotel accommodations may also be available via SMU travel partner). Certain restrictions may apply.

Step 3: Submit application and supporting documentation by deadline of May 18, 2025.
Step 4: Successful participants will be notified by June 5, 2025 (or sooner for early applicants) by email.
