Samuel Merritt University's College of Podiatric Medicine is one of only 11 podiatric medical schools in the United States, providing rigorous, clinically rich education in the science and practice of podiatric medicine. Students train across diverse outpatient, surgical, and community care settings.

With a low student-to-faculty ratio and an integrated curriculum spanning anatomy, biomechanics, surgery, and patient care, the college prepares graduates for residency and careers serving patients nationwide.

Students gain experience in real-world healthcare settings throughout their programs, while SMU’s Health Sciences Simulation Center gives them a place to practice before entering patient care. One of the West’s most advanced healthcare simulation facilities, the HSSC helps students build their skills and clinical judgment in realistic healthcare environments.
