SMU Adjunt Clinical Instructor Receives Fellowship Through The Minority Fellowship Program
A prestigious Fellowship has been awarded to one of our Adjunct Clinical Instructors, Angel Johann Solorzano RN, BSN, PHN, MBA, MSN.
Through the Minority Fellowship Program (MFP), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provides this initiative to assist the doctoral and postdoctoral development of nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and marriage and family therapists from underrepresented and underserved populations. "I am honored to have received this prestigious fellowship,” said Angel. “As a fellow of the SAMHSA's Minority Fellowship Program, I will be presenting scholarly research and clinical papers as well as publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals.I will participate in community service, attend to trainings, seminars, and other instructional activities designed to strengthen my knowledge about mental health and substance abuse among minorities. I look forward to imparting the knowledge that I will acquire to future nursing students"
Angel teaches psychiatric mental health nursing in ABSN and he also teaches Community Health in Oakland for ELMSN. After he finishes his degree, he hopes to work at SMU, full-time. Congrats Angel!
