About Me

Retired Emergency Medicine physician, began at SMU in 2006 in the Simulation Center under Dr. Celeste Villanueva. 2009 advanced to Fulltime Simulation Educator, working on a number of training projects for Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health in the areas of Sepsis and Peri-Natal Patient Safety.  In 2018 became Associate Professor in the College of Podiatric Medicine, teaching a unique clinical rotation in Internal Medicine/Critical Care, delivered entirely in a simulated environment. PM741 uses high-fidelity Laerdal manikins, task trainers and Standardized Patients to allow learners to perform complete History and Physical examinations, gather their own data, formulate thoughtful differentials and rule in/out possibilities until reaching a final diagnosis.  With that diagnosis, they then write Admission Orders and Problem Lists for their patients care.
