About Me
I officially retired as a full time faculty in the CoN in August 2022. However, I do still teach online only for the DNP program.
That said, I am enjoying the bridging this offers me to continue to teach but have a form of freedom after 45 years as an RN, 26 of those as an NP and the last 21 years as a Professor of Nursing at SMU.
Education
I graduated with my ADN degree in 1979 from Napa Comm College. After working as an RN for several years, I completed my BSN through the Cal State system, then my MSN at UCSF as well prepared as an NP in adult gero. Then while teaching at SMU I completed my doctorate in education through Walden University in 2012.
