About Me

I am a holistic practitioner and am committed to mind/body wellness.  I believe exercise and good nutrition are essential parts of wellness and integral to self-care.  I live in Marin and love to hike, zumba, bike, salsa dance, explore new areas and travel.  I am passionate about psychiatric mental health nursing and support reducing stigma and being more open in our conversations about these illnesses.  I love to bake and love entertaining in our new home.  I am happily married.  :)

Education

I have a master's degree and am board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2004 and a Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist since 1995.  I received my bachelor's degree in nursing at Rhode Island College and my master's degree from the University of Rhode Island.  

Teaching Interests

Psychiatric mental health nursing, both clinical and didactic.  I have interest in teaching in the future in a psychiatric nurse practitioner program.  

Scholarly Interests

Interest in research related to education, particularly flipped classroom approaches.  Also interested in research related to mental health, particularly adolescents.

Co-wrote a chapter in a book on Telehealth 2018
