About Me
I started as a Practical Nurse at age 18 and worked my way through to a Doctorate of Nursing Science from the University of Washington. I was awarded a National Research Service Award to conduct my doctoral dissertation with African American families perspectives of racism and delinquency. I have continued my anti-racist work with children, adolescents, adults, older adults in community health, corrections, family health, and mental health. I relish teaching patients, their families, students and health care staff.
