Education
Graduated with distinction in 1978 from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science – Physician Assistant. She later graduated summa cum laude in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and also earned a Doctor of Pharmacy in 1990, both from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. She completed a Pharmacy Practice residency at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Martinez, CA between 1991 – 1992. Dr. Meier also completed the Leadership VA (LVA) Program in 2019.

Dr. Meier is active in several professional organizations, including AMIA, for whom she is an abstract reviewer. She is a Practitioner Fellow of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and a past-president of the Diablo Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Dr. Meier is a former member of the Ambulatory Care Specialty Council, Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties.

Honors & Awards
She received multiple academic awards during her pharmacy education. Dr. Meier is Board Certified in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. In 2001, she was awarded the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States Award for Excellence in Clinical Pharmacy Practice. In 2013, she was one of several pharmacists that were finalists for the Award for Excellence in Medication Safety, which is a nationally acclaimed awards program that recognizes a pharmacist-led inter-professional team for its significant system-wide improvements relating to medication use with demonstrated patient and organizational outcomes.
