About Me

Extensive prior work experience as a nurse and pediatric (PNP) and adolescent nurse practitioner.

My formal education includes nursing; public health; epidemiology/biostatistics; health policy; quality improvement and patient safety; implementation science/program evaluation/decision analyses methods. My research includes both quantitative and qualitative phenomenology / ethnography research methods. I have extensive experience in the development and operations of longitudinal prostate cancer registry and experience in patient-related outcome measures, patient utilities, and diet and life-style surveys design and administration. Extensive experience in regulatory affairs.

Co-Investigator on the Pioneering Advances in Care and Education trial (NCT03397160), a decision-support trial for men newly diagnosed with low risk prostate cancer. Completed trial.

Since 2014, I have been a collaborator on development of models of care to assess frailty and minimize the negative health impacts for older adults who undergo surgery through a variety of clinical and research activities in the UCSF Center for Surgery in Older Adults (CSOA) Research Collaborative.

Key personnel for OPTI-Surg (NCT03857620) where I developed the OPTI-Surg Toolkit designed to assess patient frailty assessment manual and remediation strategies. Additionally, I am a member of the ethnography sub-study team and the implementation science team for site coaching. Data analysis phase.

Co-PI on PrehabPal, a digital platform to facilitate pre-surgical optimization for older adults planning major elective surgery (NCT05520866). Open study.

Member of the Advanced Care Planning (ACP) QI team in the UCSF Department of Surgery for the Caring Wisely project funded by UCSF Health.
