About Me
I have worked as an occupational therapist in acute rehab, acute care, skilled nursing, and home health over a twenty-year period. My practice focus has been with adults with neurological injury. I transitioned to the academic environment in 2016 and have thoroughly enjoyed this evolution of my professional career. I love to learn and have engaged in extensive personal development activities with a particular interest in the mind-body connection, alternative and complementary health, and how to create more complete wellness. I am a certified HeartMath trainer and have completed trainings in hypnotherapy and life coaching.
Education
I graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 1993. I received my Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of Puget Sound in 1996. I completed my post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy in 2021 at Boston University.
Teaching Interests
I enjoy helping students develop their clinical reasoning skills and integrate knowledge from classroom and clinical experiences. I am passionate about helping students and practitioners learn to engage in self-care and activities for personal well-being. And I love teaching clinical skills in the application of occupational therapy interventions with adults.
