About Me

Although a native of Idaho, I moved to the Bay Area to attend Podiatric Medical School in San Francisco, and I am now a Californian.  I started out my professional life in private practice in Berkeley, and that experience of being a small business owner and being part of the East Bay community really defined my life as a podiatric physician.  After 18 years in practice, I decided to devote the second half of my career to my true passion...teaching.  I love my job and I feel fortunate to be surrounded by young, eager hearts/minds.  I am honored to be part of their journey. My efforts are focused on empowerment of thought and curiosity as the students are become physicians.

Each and every day, I am personally empowered by the love of my husband and son.  We love to travel, experience the world and tackle new adventures.  I am energized by creative endeavors such as writing poetry,  taking photographs and planning new trips for our family.  I also enjoy making others happy by taking care of them or providing them with a little ray of sunshine during their day.

Education

I completed my doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California in 1990. Following graduation I went to Long Beach and completed my Podiatric Residency at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach.  During my residency, I also received my Master's of Medical Education from CCPM.   In 1992 I completed the Diabetic/Wound Care Fellowship at CCPM.
