About Me

I am Bryant Burgess. I am a father of one, and my daughter keeps me very busy when I go back home to SC. I am very family-oriented, and taking care of my grandmothers is what landed me into nursing in 2011. I am a nurse from South Carolina, and after finishing nursing school and obtaining my ADN, it was hard for me to find a job as a new nurse. I eventually ended up landing a job in a city about 1.5 hours away from my home as an Oncology nurse. There I have had a fantastic career for the past six years. I became a travel nurse and went from Georgia, Maryland, and ended up coming out to Oakland, CA in 2016. I started working at Kaiser Permanente January of 2017, and then started teaching at Samuel Merritt in January of 2018. Working at Samuel Merritt allowed going back to school possible, and now I am in school working on my Doctorate.
