About Me

Board-certified podiatrist Alexander Reyzelman, DPM is a professor at College of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University.

Dr. Reyzelman graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in biology. Soon after graduating, he began his schooling in podiatry at the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland. After earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, he moved to San Antonio to complete a three-year residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center. During his third year, he earned the title of chief resident.

Dr. Reyzelman has a passion for teaching and has been with College of Podiatric Medicine since 1998.  
In 2011, Dr. Reyzelman partnered with the chief of vascular surgery at UCSF  Michael Conte, MD, to open the University of California, San Francisco Center for Limb Preservation and Diabetic Foot. There, they work with other experts in numerous fields to form a multidisciplinary treatment approach for patients at risk of limb amputation because of diabetes. 
This partnership has opened the door for clinical rotations for CPM students and has one of the top fellowship programs in Limb Salvage in the country.

Dr. Reyzelman is a prolific researcher and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in the field of wound care and limb-salvage.
