College of Podiatric Medicine Experiences
Explore the field of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery through a one day event hosted at the Oakland campus. Talk to the students and faculty and find out if this rewarding profession fits you.
The CPM Immersion Experiences have been created for undergraduate or graduate students who are interested in podiatric medicine and surgery. The Summer Immersion Experience is a one day event and is scheduled on Friday, July 18, 2025 and will be hosted at Samuel Merritt University's Oakland campus. The Winter Immersion Experience is a one day event, and will take place in January, 2026. Stay tuned for more information.
During these programs, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Explore the profession of podiatry
- Shadow current CPM students and faculty in a variety of clinical settings*
- Learn about the Basic Sciences department and its partnership with CPM
- Learn about the admission process
- Participate in workshops such as suturing and athletic taping
- Learn sports medicine taping techniques, and more
*Shadowing experiences may be subject to change depending on clinical availability. Space is limited for these programs.

The 2025 Winter Immersion Experience has already been held. Please check back in September for dates for our next Winter Immersion Experience, scheduled for January 2026.
The CPM Summer Immersion Experience will be hosted in-person at Samuel Merritt University's Oakland campus in July.

9am - 4pm
Participants will be required to attend all sessions.
Limited to 20 participants
All pre-med/pre-health students are eligible to register.
