About Me
I am an SMU ELMSN/FNP graduate and have worked in a variety of clinical and management settings; from aesthetics and weight loss in private practice to community clinics that provide care to undeserved populations. One of my favorite roles was as the Clinical Director for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Sacramento where I received a lot of hands-on experience with patient care, operations, quality improvement, and health policy. I resigned from that position to take on full-time teaching with SMU. I now get the privilege of working as an Assistant Professor with students in their didactic courses, as well clinically in our faculty practice sites. I love this role because I am able to teach while maintaining relationships with our patients.
I also work as an FNP on a mobile medical team, which allows us to provide primary care services via street medicine or our mobile clinics to those who have limited access to care.
