About Me
I am a Chicago transplant (Go Cubs!), living in the East Bay for the last 35 years. My husband and I raised 3 children who are all adults now and luckily for us, are all still in the Bay Area. I love to hike, camp, garden, bake, and play with our dog.
In addition to teaching at SMU, I work in early intervention for the county and have a solo private practice, working with children and adults. I present content at national PT conferences and teach continuing education courses to current pediatric PTs on the topics of pediatric standing and gait development and treatment.
Education
I graduated with a BS in PT from Northwestern University in 1980 and received my DPT in Pediatric Sciences from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2018. I am board certified in Pediatrics from the American Board of PT Specialties.
Teaching Interests
At the DPT level I enjoy teaching Biomechanics, Gait Analysis, and
Pediatrics.
Scholarly Interests
I am interested in doing gait analysis research on standing and gait in typically developing children and children with developmental disabilities. I am currently developing a new pediatric PT clinical assessment tool for standing and gait development.

Community Service
I provide training for staff at various programs that work with pediatric and adult clients with developmental disabilities. I would like to be involved in a pro bono pediatric PT clinic.
