I have been teaching at Samuel Merritt University's Sacramento Campus in the Case Management Program since 2013. I am a proud alum of the program and am pleased to be back to help prepare students for the complex and integral profession of Case Management. After graduating from the ELMSN-CM program in 2012, I went on to work in Case Management at Sutter Health, both as an Acute Care Nurse Case Manager as well as a System Case Management Consultant where I helped with standardization initiatives as well as system-wide orientation and training. In addition to my current position at Samuel Merritt University, I also work as an Operating Room Nurse.
Masters of Science in Nursing, Case Management - Samuel Merritt University, Sacramento, CA | April 2012
Bachelors of Science in Exercise Biology, Minor in Psychology - University of California, Davis, CA | December 2007
In my professional life, I find that I gravitate torward leadership and teaching roles. I have served as a case management preceptor both for new faculty as well as students completing their graduate clinical practium at Sutter Davis Hospital. In addition, I seized the opportunity to become a consultant in case management at Sutter Health where I had the opportunity to develop and teach curriculum to the system-wide case management staff.
I have a passion for sharing knowledge and creating a safe and stimulating environment to learn new concepts and skills. Graduate-level study is immensely challenging and rewarding. I enjoy the constant reflection, evaluation, and adaptation required to find innovative and effective ways to teach a concept and inspire genuine interest and excitement in students.
