Elmare Botha graduated with a BSN degree from the University of the Free State in South Africa in 1997. She worked in various Intensive Care Units in South Africa and Saudi Arabia. She moved to the USA in 2004 where she worked in Cardiac Telemetry units. Elmare received her MSN as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) from UCSF in 2007. She started teaching at Samuel Merritt University in 2011 and completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) at SMU in 2016.
