How to Apply

RN to BSN Application Check List

Applications for the RN-BSN program are accepted through the Centralized Application Service for Nursing Programs (NursingCAS). To apply for the RN-BSN program, visit NursingCAS and take the following steps:

  1. Click on the "Apply Here" button.
  2. Create an account and provide the requested information.
  3. Start your application by adding the program and term to which you wish to apply to your application. For Samuel Merritt University's RN-BSN program, filter by delivery (On Campus) and School (RN to BSN). That will show you the terms for which the program is accepting applications.
  4. Select the term to which you wish to apply by click on the plus sign (+) next to the term and program. When you're done selecting programs, click "I'm done, review my selections."
  5. From here, you will complete the application by filling out the sections of the application (be sure to view all of the tabs in a particular section so that you do not miss the opportunity to provide valuable information):
    • Personal Information (7 sections)
    • Academic History (5 sections--Please make sure to use the transcript request forms in the application to have your transcripts sent directly to NursingCAS)
    • Supporting Information (4 sections)
    • Program Materials (1 section)

Once the application has been received and verified by NursingCAS, the faculty committee will review your application and issue an admission decision.
