Applications for the DNP-FNP program are accepted using the Central Application Service for Nursing Schools (NursingCAS). Students are admitted once per year into the summer and fall terms.
The admission review process is fairly quick once all documents have been received and your application has been verified by NursingCAS. In general, once a complete application is verified by NursingCAS, your application will be reveiwed by the program faculty. Candidates who meet the faculty review will be invited for an interview. Upon successful completion of the interview, your admission will be processed and you will be notified within a week.
Transcripts from all educational institutions attended should be sent to NursingCAS as early as possible to increase the speed with which your application is verified and reviewed. Transcripts should be sent directly to NursingCAS:
PO BOX 9201
Watertown, MA 02471
Transcript request/matching forms are available in the NursingCAS application. No transcripts should be sent to Samuel Merritt University unless requested.
Prerequisite Course Entry
A feature of NursingCAS is the ability to enter all of the courses you have taken to meet prerequisite requirements. The only course that you need to enter is your statistics course.
Letters of Recommendation
NursingCAS provides a tool for collecting letters of reference in the application. Please follow the application instructions for providing this information.
